What is the purpose of the regional pre-summit conversations?
We understand that what works for one area of the state may not work for another. That is why we have broken the state into eight regions and will encourage each region to engage in their own conversation about dropout prevention. This will allow the issues that affect each region specifically to be brought to light. Additionally, we know that not everyone will be able to attend the main summit in October, so the pre and post regional summits will give those individuals an opportunity to have a voice in the process. It is our hope that these regional conversations will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of our state’s action plan so this truly can be more than just a one-day discussion.
